Accessibility
Everyone should be able to use this site.
Power In Local is committed to making powerinlocal.com usable by as many people as possible, including people who rely on screen readers, keyboards, magnification or reduced motion.
Our standard
What we aim for
We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. In plain terms, that means:
You can use the whole site with a keyboard
Every link, button, menu and form control can be reached with the Tab key and used with Enter or Space. A "Skip to main content" link appears at the top of each page when you press Tab, and focus is always visible.
Screen readers get real structure
Pages use one main heading, a logical heading order, labeled landmarks (navigation, main and footer), descriptive link text, and text alternatives for meaningful images. Decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
Text is readable
Text and background colors meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio. Text can be resized up to 200% without losing content, and every page works at phone width without side-scrolling.
Motion respects your settings
If your device is set to reduce motion, animations on this site are turned off. Moving content on the homepage also has a Pause motion button, and nothing flashes.
Forms are labeled
Every field has a visible label, and error messages say what to fix in plain language.
Found something that doesn't work for you?
Some parts of the site, like embedded booking and contact forms and the visibility check, are provided by third parties, and we work with them to improve. If anything on this site is hard for you to use, we want to know so we can fix it.
Email [email protected] with the page and what happened. We'll reply within two business days and offer the information another way in the meantime.
